The stadium was built on the site of the old cemetery in April 1934. In 2004, the first stage of reconstruction was carried out. In 2006, after the second stage of reconstruction, it acquired a modern appearance and capacity, as well as access to international matches. It has two stands, one partially covered by a roof installed above the press center. The solemn ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the Spartak Stadium took place on June 2, 2007.
