The Red water tower at the intersection of Proletarskaya and Pushkin Streets in the city of Bobruisk was built in 1927. After the Great Patriotic War, it had to be restored.
After the first reconstruction, the water tower housed a cozy bar on two levels with 37 seats with a fireplace and picturesque paintings on the walls. The bar is decorated with a twisted staircase and a bar made of natural wood.
After the second reconstruction, a billiard table was placed in the water tower on the third floor, a hookah room on the fourth, and on the fifth floor, at the highest point of the restaurant "Chyrvonaya Vezha", there is a huge hall under a stained glass dome.
Since November 2013, the clock on the "Chyrvonai Vezha" has been striking every hour, and at exactly 19.40 they play the melody "Seven Forty". It lasts only 25 seconds. Vadim Sazhin, a Bobruisk composer, assisted in the installation of an old Jewish melody.
Since 2003, as part of the Bobruisk Vodokanal, there has been a restaurant-bar "Chyrvonaya Vezha", equipped in a restored water tower in the city center, very popular with residents and guests of Bobruisk.
In December 2012, a monument was erected to the literary hero of Ilf and Petrov's novel "The Golden Calf" Shura Balaganov. The monument is a tall sculpture of a book character. In the hands of Shura Balaganov holds a shiny figure of a golden calf. Near the sculpture there is an excerpt from the novel, which mentions Bobruisk. Recently, a project was implemented to "sound out" the monument of quotes from the film.
